Wolf Blass Grey Label Langhorne Creek Cabernet Shiraz|Australian Red Wine
Wolf Blass Grey Label Langhorne Creek Cabernet Shiraz (禾富巴斯 灰牌 蘭好溪 赤霞珠 設拉子 澳洲紅酒) is made from 55% Cabernet Sauvignon & 45% Shiraz of Langhorne Creek. A landmark blend of Cabernet and Shiraz from the Langhorne Creek region which was championed by Wolfgang Blass shows big, bold, typical Wolf Blass red wine characters of fruit cake, dark fruit and soft tannin structure since 1967. The vineyards of Langhorne Creek lie on deep, rich, alluvial soils along the banks of the Bremer River. Flooding of the river provides natural irrigation while depositing silts and sediments, which concentrate the natural eucalyptus oils in the soil and furnish the wine with its distinctive minty allure. Grey Label Langhorne Creek Cabernet Shiraz has undergone the maturation as individual vineyard batches in a combination of 63% seasoned and 16% new French oak, and 19% seasoned and 2% new American oak for 15 months, creating complex and elegant red wine. It will develop with age, softening and mellowing to reward a decade or more of careful cellaring. As a daily wine, wedding wine or other occasions, it offers value for money, one of the famous Hong Kong supermarkets red wines (香港超市酒).
Cabernet Shiraz blended is a signature red wine of Australia, two well-known French grape varieties. The first experiment was founded by Chateau Margaux, and in the mid-20th century, Penfolds Wines founder Max Schubert created a legendary Penfolds Bin 60A Cabernet Shiraz which is considered as a Australia's best red wine. Following the trend, Penfolds Bin 95 Grange & Penfolds Bin 389 Cabernet Shiraz are now the best blended red wine in Australia. Cabernet Sauvignon & Shiraz are quite well matched. Cabernet Sauvignon has great structure and depth and Shiraz can compensate the lack of mid-palate on Cabernet, offering juicy, jammy fruit flavours. Langhorne Creek is an intensely martime region, with Lake Alexandrina on one side and the Southern Ocean on the other; the flavours are of red fruits, rapsberry and texture invariably suppple. Bleasdale, Bremerton, Brothers In Arms, Angus Plains are the best producers in Langhorne Creek.

Darkly fruited with mulberry and cassis, this Grey Label is impressively concentrated. The firm, cherry, and ever so slightly dusty tannins, ensure this is one for the long term.
