The Martell Noblige Cognac is created to replace Martell VSOP (金牌爹利VSOP) due to the serious fake spirits issue spreading around Asian countries like China, Taiwan and Thailand but it is failed regarding the long history of Martell VSOP production. In 2018, the new chief winemaker of Martell announced the new release of a new Martell VSOP Aged in Red Barrels (馬爹利赤木VSOP) and stopped the production of Martell VSOP.
