Tasting Note | Incredibly deep inky black core that’s totally impenetrable with an inky black dark red hue. Heady super ripe aromatics of black cherry and blackberry liqueur as well as liquorice waft from the glass followed by toasty vanillin oak, fennel and spice. The palate possesses massive weight, a thick liqueur like textural feel and super ripe richness. Voluptuous flavours of black cherries, blackberry liqueur and liquorice completely saturate every corner of the mouth over a hefty dose of toasty vanillin oak, some fennel infusion and spice. Despite the lofty alcohol the wine is balanced. A solidly built tannin structure largely going unnoticed beneath the outrageously concentrated fruit. Long powerful aftertaste of black cherry liqueur, blackberries, liquorice, vanillin oak, smoky fennel and spice. |
